Tragic or horrible is a line Joaquin Phoenix takes based on I’m Still Here reviews

People do change careers at times, and Phoenix left behind a solid acting career for a fresh profession in 2008. It was his intention to start a career as a rapper, and he was lampooned thoroughly for a severely off kilter appearance on David Letterman’s show. A movie about him and his new career was made, titled “I’m Still Here”. The reviews are beginning to come out, as the film has just hit theaters.

Some type of rapper doc

The buzz about the release of the film is it’s an update on Joaquin Phoenix. The last big thing he did was the infamous Joaquin Phoenix Letterman appearance. That is one of the most recent thing in the public consciousness about him, most likely. He was disheveled, to say the least. Completely unhinged may be more like it. The majority of the “I’m Still Here” reviews discuss in detail the state he is in. Roger Ebert, in his review in the Chicago Sun Times, sums up the allure of the film, which is a talented actor that has gone completely off the rails. Given that Ebert and other critics mostly discuss Phoenix deteriorating, Phoenix can’t be too happy with himself.

Rap Odyssey

. However, there’s no comparing “I’m Still Here” review to “This is Spinal Tap” on Rotten Tomatoes. ”Spinal Tap” is a classic. It has a 96 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The reviews for “I’m Still Here” are not as good. It has a rating just over 50 percent. Common themes in “I’m Still Here” reviews are Phoenix’s drug use, unhinged behavior and lousy production by the film’s director, Casey Affleck. The director has a famous last name also. Casey Affleck is the younger brother of Ben Affleck, and is also, as fate would have it, married to the sister of Phoenix.

No route at all

This film cannot be about a pre-eminent rapper about for making it big, because he hasn’t; but rather it is about a talented individual who left a successful profession behind and is about to implode. The subject of the film is self destructing. Unfortunately, schadenfreude sells pretty well. Bear something else in mind, though. Many of the reviews also bring up River Phoenix, older brother of Phoenix, who passed away from a drug overdose. It is never fun to determine someone with talent throw it away. Joaquin Phoenix might be determined to do so.
